‪on the last bus‬
‪the city lights dreaming by‬
‪suddenly my face‬
spider prodded
twitched all through the winter
broken spring
the broken roof
always calls the wind to play
clapping
the all-mighty sky
reigning over my roof
do drop in
the wind
always finds a hole
for the rain
autumn evening
from a dream of christmas
the gift of a smile
the dawn’s day‬
‪ends up as a pile of rust‬
‪for the night cleaner‬
morning after
the sky’s contrite blushes
deep snowfield

autumn storm
wild sea hurling back the leaves
street sweeper’s nightmare
hail shower
under an outstretched wing
the wood pigeon blinks

street artist
asking
where are you
autumn sea
even the wind is grey
then snowflakes
the weatherman
arranges a windy day
birthday candles

lightening
counting the seconds
— thunder
autumn
birds nests and beehives
under the eves
bury me dead deep
flow molten mantle dear love
around this cold heart
‪broom‬
‪quiet says the leaf blower‬
‪but it isn’t‬
blue snow
red finger breath
log fire
winter night
after the snowballs
fire fingers

autumn
in the cemetery
cyclamen
the frog
where has he been all winter
courting fervour
the frog
sitting in the duckweed
what a clown
scribbling
all across dusk’s eraser
bats

Saturday, 26 October 2019

hero worship
a raffia mat across a bog
creepy crawlies
autumn storm
a fig outside the front door
too whet
music
angst from the past
reheated

Friday, 25 October 2019

chanting
the snow mimes the winter
gusty wind
wet autumn day
then the sun comes out again
school report

bird in the poem
shall it be male or female
not easy PC
cemetery
up in the blue sky
contrail
back from my walk
with armfuls of found poems
treasure X map
cemetery
on the warm tombstones
a flutter bye
autumn
leaves littering
Twitter
morning sunshine
the cat pinches my seat
sundial
‪haiku‬
‪from the swarm‬
‪one bee settles‬
sitting alone
the incontinence of thought
malapropism

Wednesday, 23 October 2019

morning sunshine
the silver birch starts snowing
autumn leaves
obituaries
days counting down the days
until
the cat
drops into my snooze
OK    OK

Tuesday, 22 October 2019

a lone soprano
slowly undressing the night
see-through moonbeams
as cherry leaves
the dawns and sunsets
of october

Sunday, 20 October 2019

plump old ladies
in their pinafores
dead ringers
wales
mountains and cemeteries
widow’s tears
spider moon
spinning lies on autumn rain
suspends be leaf
mmm nice food
thank you - yours faithfully
pussy cat
music and sunbeams
Sunday morning on the cusp
bang! brexit!
dead tree driftwood
sand branches remembering
the sea leaves reprise

at a sneeze
in the approaching storm
the cat panics
hermit
walled in by visitors
visiting thoughts
in the storm
the cat of nine tails
snaps
storm
black and blue
come closer
jellyfish
congealed
in fear

Thursday, 17 October 2019

torrential swim
flailing bruise faced winds
exhilarating
trapped
the bird in the gilded cage
burned
take this word
and this word
is a poem
‪the hot air‬
‪of extinction rebellion ‬
‪is in jail‬
‪so no more global warming‬
‪we are all safe forevermore ‬

Wednesday, 16 October 2019

the cat
in sunshine
washed in light

Tuesday, 15 October 2019

the snows are coming
covering the year’s scars
promising nothing
but spring’s budding renewal
whisper sotto voce - if

torrential rain
one plumb left on the tree
mouthwatering

Monday, 14 October 2019

‪time to bin late ‬
‪then not bin late‬
‪but bin on time‬
abyssal pain
where the words
settle

Sunday, 13 October 2019

flu jab
children get a sweet
poets lament
sundown
asleep in the garden
autumn

Saturday, 12 October 2019

storm passed
in the blink of an eye
silence
beautiful nature
lives by recycling death
over and over
melting ice
cat at the food dish
all eyes
creaking door
talking to the past
an old lady

Friday, 11 October 2019

autumn
the long walk into winter
collecting firewood

Thursday, 10 October 2019

october
blown in with the cat’s
bravado
‪walking past‬
‪the recycling cart‬
‪traffic jam ‬
bins day
lorry reversing time
speaking welsh
obituary
between here and here
a tightrope
autumn seeds
the bloody nasturtiums
of summer
autumn
all is safely gathered in
drying room

Tuesday, 8 October 2019

just me and the sea
the old cold grey towering sea
last tango in parlance

topiary phoenix
extinction rebellion’s
autumn days
trees chant autumn
polished conker pews
falling light
hysterical
swimming in a wild sea
tears of joy
seething
is believing
in the sea
october sea
diving and resurfacing
black sunshine
shrieking
the wildness of it all
winter sea swimmer
doctors waiting room
reading a walking magazine
if only
global heating
everything and everyone
choose wisely

Monday, 7 October 2019

thinking extinction’s
arresting rebellion
we do or we die
today it is you and i
for tomorrow’s sever comes
playtime
a child again
grandad

little child
grandfathering
grandad

child
admonishing the dog
naughty boy

little boy
discounting
insects legs

sticklebacks
look bigger in my jam jar
home we go

spring door ajar
hatching an idea
frogspawn
autumn’s door
into a secret garden
morning leaves

Sunday, 6 October 2019

each and every way
a cat is made of snowflakes
blizzard befuddle
burning
on the back burner
the earth

the clock
is afire
alarm

alas never
is too late
now

sunset
flaming june
moon

the hermit
with no fire
burning

temple bells
are melting out
a ring of truth

cinders
after the cremation
of truth

poles impart
the cold facts
of fire
all are guilty
dining out on latter days
no food for thought
just me and you on the menu
so who will see the QED
steep beach
heaven of coarse sand
clear water

Saturday, 5 October 2019

hubble nebulae
cream in my coffee
humble thoughts
wind chimes
how far away
from home
wind chimes
when the wind stops
remembering
summer
bandaged in autumn leaves
takes a break

deep in love
autumn seduces summer
snow queen’s kiss

leaves falling
deep in the blue woods
must be must
maggots
stealing the hare’s breath
fly away

Thursday, 3 October 2019

fall falls
snowflakes settle
overleaf
between sea and sky
sail-ship unzipping the bay
schoolboy pirates

Tuesday, 1 October 2019

winter graveyards
snowed under
with work
outside
everyone inside
midwinter
the misty way
that so far beckons
now so irresistible
ice
trapped bubbles
chilblains
industry
grumbling
in the night
whistling
across the blue
snow
dusk
in flagranté delicto
super moon
oh no we didn’t
but of course we did
that summer
remembering
that time we stopped to kiss
forever
the path between
where we stopped to kiss
and where we are now
the school run
more bangs than there are car doors
car ride away
