that fly

i killed it again today

i swore i did

 a bluebottle

sawing the afternoon

in two

so much depends on the delivery man

 my dear poet

the reader paints a picture

to show you

 every child’s

intense stare is trying

to figure you out

 there’s a spider

on the door jamb

and he’s awful tiny

 freckles

of her summer smile

my equinox

 groyned

in a social stream of posts

a thought stuck

 salt marsh

one minute an ocean

the next a prairie

does an aborted embryo have a near life experience

 enter two children

dressed as a cow

giggling

 it’s time to

• surely not -

now i’ve forgotten

 far away

in the mist

                            goal!!

 autumn

the retrograde of waiting

towards

 the night train to Vienna

 narrow bridge

the holding of a breath

in slow motion

 rose garden‬

‪all these lovely flowers‬ and

‪the flies prefer shit‬

 BANG

the robin has hit the window

he’s dead!!

 they filmed

a helicopter that crashed

filming a bus crash

 the rickety pier

between a thought

and a poem

 my writing slopes

in a different direction

• new school year

language the key to unlocking the key

 that tree one day a

shelf for memorabilia

~ life’s rings

 reverse biography

home becomes a destination

diaspora a beginning

 creativity

both draining and fulfilling

at the same time

 gravity spins

around the plug hole

of wondering

gentle music

a muscle twitches

out of sync

 lobelia blues

stuck to a wet table

in september

 a cat

suddenly notices me

• stand-off

 fallen leaves

ten thousand variations

of autumn

 through the window

the reflection of a candle

in a windy tree

 global warming

the sale of red pens

goes through the roof

 plastic gown

which side am i on now

- a skipped heart beat

 the wry smile

of a pathetic salesman

i just don’t buy it

a wry smile

a pathetic salesman

i just don’t buy it

euphemism lies in the chapel of rest
