as eyes seize it
rough sea
a heaved breath
a sigh
so near and yet so far
so far and yet so near
this way and that
the sea view demands our attention
before the wind gull flys
we dammed the stream
then went in to sunday school
and prayed to the clock
going nowhere
we walk slowly
chatting
does it matter
that in the grand scheme of things
nothing matters
that fly
yes yes yes
the spider’s got it
migration
a thought rests
momentarily
our ripples pass
to land on the other’s shore
mid-lake kiss
morning
there is the sea
and here is the sea
dry tears
seeding the barren fields
with memories
the shrivelled plums
showing the summer sunshine
their deep blue hearts
my dry tears
poppy seeding the barren fields
with memory’s flowers
